To apply for the 190 visa, you will need to submit an expression of interest, and indicate that you would like to be nominated by a specific state or territory. If you meet their criteria and receive a nomination, you may then be invited to apply for the 190 visa by the Australian Government.

One of the key requirements for the 190 visa is having an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list. You must also have skills assessment requirements for that occupation, which generally involves demonstrating your qualifications and work experience in the field.

Both the 189 and 190 visas are points-tested, which means that you need to meet certain criteria and accumulate enough points to be eligible. Points are awarded based on various factors including age, English language proficiency, education and work experience.

There are various streams to the 482 visa, allowing you to stay for up to 4 years. Make sure to do thorough research to determine which stream will work for you and your circumstances.

The 491 visa, or Skilled Work Regional visa is designed to encourage skilled workers to live and work in regional areas of Australia. On the 491, you can stay in Australia for up to five years.

How to apply for a skilled visa in Australia?

To be eligible for the 491 visa, you need to have an occupation that is listed on the skilled occupation list. 

You will also need to obtain a skills assessment for your occupation, and meet the minimum points requirement on the Department of Home Affairs points test.
